On July 9, 2024, the first Innovation Day took place at the ZF Forum Friedrichshafen as part of the Future Rescue Forum. Under the motto “The future of emergency vehicles”, ZF offered exclusive insights into the latest technical developments and innovations for emergency vehicles.
In addition to the major trend topic of e-mobility for emergency vehicles, various networking options were also presented. These included the ZF Group's V2X technology. Alexander Grupp, project manager of the “ZF Rescue Connect” project, describes this technology as follows: “A vehicle ‘V’ talks to any number of other things ‘X’.” This method, which has its origins in automated driving, is now used to optimize traffic lights for emergency vehicles, among other things. Other highlights of the event included the latest developments in the Digital Situation Center, the use of virtual reality and the manufacturer-independent system solution ZF Rescue Connect.
