Experienced Weber Rescue instructors from Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Slovinea passed on their knowledge to over 100 Firefighters from Regional and National UK Fire & Rescue Services. Five complex training scenarios were set up including, accidents involving cars and agricultural machinery such as tractor and plough, as well as bus rescue and new vehicle technology.
Station Manager Kevin Scorer from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “This is the first time Weber Rescue UK have brought their international RescueDAYs to the UK, and we are proud to be the hosting service, so this is a brilliant opportunity for us to be involved. The two-day event will allow our staff to learn new rescue techniques, learn more about emerging vehicle technologies and give us the opportunity to promote safety advice.
The primary objective of this event is to equip operational firefighters with crucial training, enhancing their preparedness for Road Traffic Collision incidents while simultaneously raising awareness and knowledge in this critical and ever-increasing area of their work.
Chief Fire Officer Jonathan Dyson was delighted to host this event, and said “the feedback from all those attending had been fantastic and the knowledge gained would benefit their front line response”.
"Weber Rescue UK is honoured to collaborate with North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service for the groundbreaking RescueDAYS UK event," said Richard Wood, Director of Weber Rescue UK. "Our aim is to provide invaluable training experiences that enhance the skills of our firefighters, ultimately contributing to the safety and well-being of our communities."
